ELDER MEDIATION
Elder mediation provides a supportive, structured, and respectful process for families navigating difficult conversations related to aging, caregiving, communication, and future planning. These discussions can involve parents, adult children, caregivers, extended family members, or support professionals.
Our mediation process helps families address issues such as:
-
Supporting the aging adult’s voice, choices, and independence in decisions that affect their life
-
Helping families work with care providers, agencies, and support services more effectively
-
Encouraging respectful conversations and effective communication between family members
-
Strengthening family relationships through the changing needs and roles within the family
-
Caregiving responsibilities
-
Living and housing arrangements
-
Health and care decisions
-
Financial and decision-making concerns
-
Planning for future care and support needs
Elder mediation focuses on preserving relationships, improving communication, and creating practical, family-centered solutions in a calm and neutral environment.
Services are available virtually throughout British Columbia and can be tailored to meet the needs of each family situation.
If your family is experiencing stress, uncertainty, or conflict surrounding aging or caregiving decisions, mediation can provide a constructive path forward.
